Tram ride in 1967

While looking for some info about Hong Kong tramways (for yesterday’s post), I came across this great video on YouTube showing a tram ride back in 1967.

I recognise some of the locations in Central, for example the Bank of China or Prince’s Buildings, but I also realised that Hong Kong has changed so much. Looking back at the video, it feels less metropolitan as there are fewer tall-rise buildings than there are now. Plus there are streets with normal passenger cars, that are now one-track lines and mostly reserved for taxis and buses. You don’t see many private passenger cars in Hong Kong anymore, at least not compared to what it used to be or how it still is in other cities.

But enough rambling. Here you go, have a look at this video from 1967 and if you think you know Hong Kong, you might still be surprised. What a different tram journey it has been back then!
